Choosing a Location |
Ventilation is very important when
choosing a space for your Home Gym. Many of my customers have
been successfully converting spare bedrooms, basements and
Garages into Home Gyms. One major concern is, will
the foam mats or rubber mats smell. When first laid, the rubber mats
will have a low rubber odor. This odor will dissipate in time.
The foam mats will have little to no odor. I have had only
one complaint regarding a strong rubber smell. It turned out
to be a closed off room with the sun shinning in from a window onto the
mats. Once again ventilation is very important. Another concern is
placing mats on carpet. Neither the rubber or foam mats will not
stain carpets. Both interlocking systems will work best on a hard
surface, but a tight low carpet (Berber) will be fine. |
Choosing a Gym Floor |
When searching for the right gym floor you will soon
be confused at the many options. Although there are many
manufactures and styles to choose from you basically have to
materials to choose from, foam or rubber. Unlike
larger mats, I found the 2' X 2' is more manageable and allows
versatility installation. Both are Do-It-Yourself
Installation, requiring no special tools or
adhesive. Fitness flooring products provide the necessary floor
protection, while still offering a high degree of comfort and
safety. Just as importantly they offer a fantastic look to Your Home
Gym.

 2' X 2' X 5/8"
Foam Mats
|
Premium
high density EVA foam. These foam floor mats create a waterproof,
durable and comfortable surface. Affordable and easy to install.
These mats will hold up to large base exercise machines. Heavy
objects will leave impressions, but mats do recover. Foam
mats offer the most comfort with less durability.

 2' X 2' X 5/8" Carpet
Mats |
Compatible with the foam mats. Coarse polypropylene and
polyester fibers make up the waterproof surface of these carpet
mats. Carpets are more durable then the foam mats and can placed in
the more heavy work out sections within your gym floor.

 2' X 2' X 3/8" Rubber
Mats |
Made from recycled rubber. Our extremely durable 2' by
2' by 3/8" thick interlocking tile system is ideal for use in home
gyms, basements and fitness centers. Unlike
traditional 4' x 6' black mats, Puzzle Tile is manageable,
allows versatility in installation, prevents slipping and more
importantly, offers a fantastic look in speckled blue or
gray.
